What is the best way to take out dreads or madded hair?

I can't seem to find any beauty shops and the jamacians wan 300 DOLLARS!! whoa. I know there is something called a deep condition and I would like to try that. It hasnt been madded for long and i want to go back to straight hair. any suggestions. should I cut it???
