Can like someone be nice and help my best friend?

She should cut him off and not talk to him at all. She doesn't need some jerk of a guy around to make her feel bad. The people we keep in our lives are supposed to make us feel good and he isn't doing that. Why keep him around? Tell her to drop him like a bad habit and find someone good!
