Can you attend an out of town public school?

ok so my school is going under extreme budget cuts next year. we are in a two million dollar debt right now and our town isn't increasing the budget for next year at all. this means that there is a possibility for cutting all sports, band, art, and some electives.in our entire district over 100 teachers are losing there jobs and entire departments might be cut, like music. next year is also a accreditation year which means people are going to come in to say that we are a horrible school. im a freshman and they are starting to say that we might have to go through 5 years of high school instead of four because of the credits needed to graduate. i can pretty much guarantee that no college will accept any of us no matter what are grades are. im not going to stay at this school if this is being done and my parents are refusing to send me to a private school. so would i be able to go to a school in a different town or not. i live three minutes away from trumbull high school but i have to go to shelton high school because it my house in in shelton and it is 20 minutes away. why can't i just go to trumbull high instead of shelton high.
